Studied at Ladies’ College, Edinburgh (Dux Medallist and Travelling Scholar). Gold Medallist in Zoology and Comparative Anatomy under Professor E. Ray Lankester, University College, London, 1889-1890. Graduated Doctor of Science 1893, London University.
Studied Geology and Palaeontology, Munich University, 1891-1895, and was awarded the Phi D. degree with highest honours in 1900, when the degree was for the first time conferred by that University on women. Is a Vice president of National Union of Women Workers of Great Britain and Ireland.
