Some chapters demonstrate as to how plants respond to the varying environmental scenario how they tend to adapt to the existing conditions and how these can serve as pollution indicators. A few chapters deal with the relevant techniques that can be useful in impact assessment resource conservation recovery of energy and material and quality improvement. Some of the chapters address the interaction of environmental components with pathogen behaviour and disease development. At the end are these chapters dealing with management of environmental stresses and conservation of healthy environment. A brief summary has been provided at the front of each chapter so as to give readers a general idea of the major contents of the related text. The book on the whole caters to the interest of not only science students and environmentalists but of all those who have a concern for ecological balanceenvironmental health and global social welfare.
