Mukhiddin FARKHAT, USSR Tadzhikistan poet and translator; Editor, journal “Pioner”, Stalinabad. Real name: KHASANOVFARKHAT.
FARKHAT, Mukhiddin was born in 1924 in village Guliston, Tadzhikistan.
Studied at Pedagogical School, Teachers’ Institute and Pedagogical Institute, Leninabad. 1952 completed postgrad, course at Institute of Language and Lit.
1941-1945 in Red Army. Since 1952 Head of an edition deputy., newspaper “Todzhikistoni Soveti”, and contributor to journal “Shark Surkh”, Stalinabad. Translated into Tadzhik: works of Pushkin, Lermontov, Nekrasov, Kupala, Kolos and Isaakyan, Kazakevich’s novel “Voyna na Odere” (War on the Oder) and texts of films “Przhevalsky” and “Beleet parus odinoky” (The Lone White Sail), etc.
