He went to the United Kingdom to study in 1887. He came with her to Japan in 1910 and became an Envoy in 1914, but presently, retired from one due to disease. Thereafter he lived in Kamakura, Kanagawa until his death in 1942 and economically supported along with Iso Kamakura-jo-gakkō, a girl"s high school in Kamakura (now Kamakura-jo-gakuin girl"s junior high and high school), and exerted themselves to conserve historic site.
