The young man moved with his family to Salt Lake City in 1905 and two years later graduated at the High School.
He began architectural work in Salt Lake City, later opened an office in Ogden and in partnership with Mr. Hodgson planned a number of important public buildings. Associated in practice with Leslie S. Hodgson over a period of nearly twenty years, with an office in the Eccles Building. Among these were the City High School, costing over a million dollars, the Ben Lomond Hotel, National Guard Armory, Stock Show Cohseum, and a building for the Weber Company (under construction at the time of Mr. McClenahan s death).
