Nagachika Kanamori was born in 1524.
Nagachika Kanamori showed his courage again when he captured Shinano (Nagano Prefecture), from the army of Katsuyori Takeda (1582). After this he became a priest for a while under the name of Sogen, but returned to the battle ground during the civil war between Katsuie Shibata and Hideyoshi Toyotomi, siding with the former first and then with the other. Leading the attack he routed the army of Shigemasa Sassa at Etchu (Toyama Prefecture), and then conquered the Hida District (Gifu Prefecture). In reward for this Hideyoshi presented him with land capable of producing 38,000 koku of rice at Hida. Joined in the punitive expedition to Korea. Back home and under the command of Ieyasu Tokugawa he fought gallantly at Battle of Sekigahara and was awarded again with more land at Mino (1600).
