Nakdimon Shabbethay Doniach Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire was a lexicographer and scholar of Judaic and Semitic languages.
Career
After 11 years in the Royal Air Force, he moved to the Foreign Office department at GCHQ Cheltenham, where he became Director of the Technical Language Section. He was the editor of the 1972 Oxford English-Arabic Dictionary and the 1982 Concise Oxford English Dictionary of Current Usage.
Membership
In World World War II, he served in the Royal Air Force as a member of the intelligence unit at Bletchley Park, rising to the rank of Squadron Leader.
