Achievements include research in investigation in freshwater aquatic ecology. Ecotoxicology, field studies, experimental ecology and studies on endangered fish and amphibians. Research in studies on ecotoxicology using rotifers and cladocerans and participation in a national effort to select appropriate native species for ecotoxicology in Mexico.
Research in studies on the feeding ecology of endangered fish (Goodeidae) and the endemic axolotl, Ambystoma mexicanum. Development of a system of utilizing zooplankton to improve water quality in waste water plants, thereby reducing bacterial loads biologically and generating fish food for the ornamental fish industry.
