Career
He became famous overnight in 1795 with his Kataki-uchi Gijo-no-Hana- bu»ay a story about a vendetta. It revived the popularity of vendetta stories. He also made a new departure from the kusazdshi style of story writing. His maaterpiece was Kataki- uchi Mikumi-no-Sakazua.
