Education
He studied briefly at Waseda University's English Literature Section.
Career
Started the Gensensha publishing house in 1918 but it collapsed. Was connected with the Bungei Shunju publishing company before he became suddenly famous for his Nangoku Taiheiki, a novel set in the feudal era (1928). It was followed by other feudal romances and also novels set in modern times.
