Al-Johar played for the Al Nassr FC. Coaching
The Saudi Arabia Federation announced the "reclusive" Al-Johar would continue to support the team as a "technical advisor". After losing to the Syria national football team on 9 January 2011, it was announced that Al-Johar would replace Peseiro throughout the remainder of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. After two further losses (1–0 against Jordan and 5–0 against Japan), the perennial fix-it man for Saudi Arabia was again sacked less than two weeks after taking the helm.
