Natasha Josefowitz is an American author and educator. She is best known for her books, including "Retirement: Wise And Witty Advice For Making It The Next Great Adventure", "Too Wise to Want to Be Young Again", "Living Without the One You Cannot Live Without" and others.

Background

Josefowitz was born on October 31, 1926 in Paris, France; the daughter of Myron T. Chapro and Tamara (Fradkin) Chapro.

Education

Josefowitz received a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia School of Social Work in 1965. Twelve years later she earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Sussex College.

Career

Josefowitz began her career as a professor of social work at Child Guidance Clinic of the Lausanne University in 1965 and had held it for nine years. In 1972, she was appointed a lecturer and psychologist at Lausanne University. Then in 1974, Natasha became a professor of management at the University of New Hampshire. Also she held the same position at SDSU Fowler College of Business from 1980 to 1984.

In addition to her teaching career, she had her own weekly radio broadcast and a weekly television segment for ten years. In 1980, Natasha wrote "Paths to Power: A Woman’s Guide from First Job to Top Executive", which quickly became a bestselling guide for women in the workplace. She wrote her own nationally syndicated column and appeared on Larry King Show, Sally Jesse Raphael and Dr. Ruth. Josefowitz currently writes a bi-monthly column for the La Jolla Village News and for Jewishsightseeing.com.

Achievements

  • Josefowitz has been named Woman of the Year many times by various national and international organizations. In 2015, she was inducted into the San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame and was the Honoree at the University of California, San Diego Women’s Conference.
