Her nomination was returned to the President on December 17, 2011, pursuant to the rules of the Senate. Natasha Silas was born in 1965 in Atlanta, Georgia to Amanda Bowens Perdew and John Perdew.
Mistress
Silas went to Frederick Douglas High School and graduated in 1983 as Valedictorian. Silas received a Bachelor of Surgery degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988 and a law degree from University of Virginia School of Law in 1992. Since 1994 she worked as a litigation Public Defender for the federal government in the Northern District of Georgia.
Silas was first nominated to fill the seat of Judge Clarence Cooper by President Barack Obama on January 26, 2011.
She never received a vote and subsequently her nomination expired when it was returned to the President on December 17, 2011.
