Crosby was born at Hillsborough, California. Crosby performed with his father, mother, brother Harry and sister Mary in several Christmas television shows and at the London Palladium in 1976.

He starred along with the rest of his family, in the 1970 television musical, Goldilocks. He played on the winning 1982 Eisenhower Trophy and 1983 Walker Cup teams. He turned professional in 1984 and having failed to gain a place on the Professional Golf Association Tour, played on the European Tour from 1985 to 1987.
Crosby then turned his attention to the business side of golf, becoming involved in golf club manufacturing companies and golf real estate.
He regained his amateur status in 1994, initially in order to play in the American Telephone & Telegraph Company Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, the tournament founded by his father. He went on to play again in the Porter Cup and United States, but this time without success.
Crosby married twice and is a father to six children. In 2005, Crosby was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame. wins (2) 1981 United States.
