Career
Hone made his debut for Ireland in August 1868, playing against I Zingari. He was bowled for a duck in the only Irish innings, and bowled for the only time in his international career, taking 1/20 in the second innings. He would not play again for Ireland for almost ten years, making his return in August 1878, again playing against I Zingari.
He played four times for Ireland in 1879, against the Master Control Console and Surrey before touring North America, playing two matches against Philadelphia.
He scored 87 against the Master Control Console, his only half-century for Ireland. He played three more times for Ireland, his final game being against Philadelphia in June 1884.
