Page, Nathaniel Clifford was born on October 26, 1866 in San Francisco, California, United States. Son of Nathaniel and Emelia Amanda (Simonton) Page.

Education

Educated Wright’s Academy, Oakland, California. Special studies in theory of music, composition, orchestration, conducting.

Career

Composer since 1881; first opera produced San Francisco, May, 1889. Suite for Orchestra, produced Manuscript Society, New York, 1896. Composed and directed Japanese Music, Prince of Wales Theatre, London, 1899.

Japanese Nightingale, Daly’s Theatre, New York, 1903. Has composed light and serious operas, many songs, much incidental music for plays, orchestral works, etc. Published works: Contest of the Nations, operetta with dances.

Lord Howe’s Masquerade, choral ballad. Alice in Wonderland, cantata. Old Plantation Days, choral cycle.
