1919 graduate Medical Faculty, Kiev University.
Career
Served as surgeon in Red Army. 1917 first work published. After end of the Civil War, settled in Moscow and became co-ed, journal “Strom”.
Defended nationalist aspirations. 1926-1928 head, lit department, Jewish Section, Institute of Belorussian Culture, Minsk. 1928-1931 head, Literature Section, Institute of Jewish Culture, Ukraine Academy of Sciences, Kiev.
In his latter years head, Criticism Department, journal “Sovetskaya Rodina”.
