Career
Commissioned a sub-lieutenant (1888). Was a squad leader aboard the flagship Matsushima in the Sino-Japanese War (1894-95) and served on land during the Russian-Japanese War (1904-05). Was commander-in-chief of the Maizuru - Yokosuka Naval Bases.
