Eyster, Nellie Blessing was born on December 7, 1836 in Frederick, Maryland, (her baptismal name was Penelope A. M. Blessing, but she adopted the shorter “Nellie”). Daughter of Abraham and Mary M. E. Blessing.

Educated by private tutors and at Barleywood Seminary, Virginia.

Career

David A. South. Eyster, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (died 1889). Has lived in California since 1876. Active in woman suffrage movement and other national reforms for the advancement of women.

State lecturer in public schools on scientific temperance.
