Career
During his spell at Kaizer Chiefs he wore the legendary number 11. After retiring he also worked as a manager for his former club Youth As a teenager he attended Tlakula High School in Kwa-Thema, a township east of Johannesburg and he played for a local footbal club called Pilkington United Brothers, commonly known as PUBS.
On 10 August 1976, Ewert Nene went to Kwa-Thema to negotiate a transfer at the Dladla household.
The transfer was successful, he crammed Dladla into his Chevrolet Impala and covered him with blanket so he could not be identified, but a group of people found out.
Ewert Nene was stabbed to death after a heated argument between the mob and Nene, Kaizer Chiefs players.
