Career
He represented Dewdney in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1928 to 1933 as a Conservative. He was born in Thornbury, Ontario and came to British Columbia with his family in 1889. He was also active in mining and logging.
Lougheed was mayor of Maple Ridge.
He served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Public Works from 1928 to 1929 and as Minister of Lands from 1930 to 1933. Lougheed died in Vancouver.
The Lougheed Highway was named after him.
