In 1877, during the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878), her family emigrated from the Caucasus to Istanbul, where she was delivered at the court of the Ottoman Sultan. Receiving her education in the palace, Nevdür also went unto court service, became lady-in-waiting to Valide Sultan Şevkefza Sultan. After the abolition of the Ottoman Caliphate by the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey in 1924, Fatma Sultan went into exile in Nice, France.
Nevdür returned to Istanbul and settled in Beşiktaş, where she died in 1927.
As but an adjunct member of the Imperial family, Nevdür was not exiled, and so remained in Turkey.
