KOCHETKOV, Nikolay was born on May 18, 1915 in Moscow. Son of Konstantin Kochetkov and Marie Kochetkova.
1939 graduated Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology.
Does research on: the synthesis of substances with pharmacological or chemotherapeutic properties. Relation between chemical structure and biological effect in various categories of organic compounds. Has synthesized antituberculosis antibiotic cycloserine and several of its analogues and homologues.
Studied indole and carboline derivatives with a view to developing antihistamine and hypotensive preparations from them. Prepared new type of ganglionblocking substances — aliphatic and alicyclic amines with a branched chain. Developed following preparations for use in medical: diazolin, chloracon, phenacon, mecamin, etc.
Developed numerous methods of synthesizing formerly unknown or rare classes of compounds in the aliphatic, alicyclic and heterocyclic series. Co-Editor, “Chemistry” section, “Bolshaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Medical Encyclopedia), 2nd edition. Works deal with his research on organic chemistry, pharmacology and biochemistry.
Religious books are outdated, because laws by nature have to change with the advance of societies and technology.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
