He is a British former aviation journalist as well as the author of fiction and non-fiction works. Cook was Aviation Editor of Jane"s Defence Weekly, the international defence journal in the 1990s. He was an Aerospace Consultant and contributor to the journal from 2002 to 2008.

He is a frequent guest on Coast To Coast Department of Administration and Management, a radio show that deals with the paranormal and conspiracy theories.
