TIGRANYAN, Nikogayos was born on August 31, 1856 in Alcksandropoi (now Leninakan).
Studied music in Vienna and Saint St. Petersburg.
At the age of nine lost eyesight. Specialized in collection and study of Arm, Azer, Geo, Iranian and Kurdish folk songs. Collected and arranged “mugams” (folk classical music).
Wrote a number of works for piano, orchestra and string quartet based on folk song and dance melodies. One of the founders of Arm piano music
Religion is bad because it imposes irrational rules of good and bad behaviour.
The role of the individual as a member of a collective is more important than the individual.
