Wrote a book entitled The War Time Economy of the Soviet Union During the Patriotic War, 1947. Lost his post in connection with the socalled Leningrad case, one of the most bizarre actions of Stalin and Beria. A purge of party officials was launched secretly after World War II under the pretext that they had conspired to bring about the separation of Russia from the USSR by making Leningrad the capital of the RSFSR. Thousands were arrested, tried in secret and condemned to the Gulag or execution.
The main victims of this case were Voznessenskii and his brother, who were executed on Stalin’s orders.
