Nikolai Petrovich graduated from the Voronezh Mikhailovsky Cadet Corps (1863) and the 3rd Alexander Military School.
Career
Since 1880, the head officer for special assignments. Head of Bessarabian (1890) and Grodno (1892) provincial gendarme administrations. In 1898 he was seconded to the headquarters of the gendarmes corps. Since 1899, the head of the gendarme police department of the Trans-Caspian Military Railway (later - the Central Asian Railway).
