1915 graduate directing class, Komissarzhevskiy Theatrical School.
Career
1926-1933 film director and scriptwriter, Leningrad Film Studio. 1936-1938 film director and scriptwriter, Belorussian State Film Studio. From 1949 at People's Sciences Film Studio, Leningrad.
Also produced plays at Leningrad and Moscow theaters. Productions: films: Zolotoy myod (Golden Honey) (1928). Razgrom (Rout) (1931).
Annenkovshchina (The Annenkov Movement) (1933). Pushkin v Petersburge (Pushkin in Saint St. Petersburg! (1950). Tolstoy v Yasnoy Polyane (Tolstoy at Yasnaya Polyana) (1952).
