CHINAKAL, Nikolay was born in 1888.
1912 graduated Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute.
Developed method of working thick, steep-sloping coal seams using “Chinakal” panels. Works deal with opening of new mines in Donbas and Kuzbas, development and improvement of mining methods, and mechanization of coalfields. 1912-1930 at Donbas mines.
1930-1940 at Kuzbas mines. 1940-1941 instructor, 1941-1944 Professor, Tomsk Polytechn. Institute; 1944-1957 Director, Mining and Gaol.
