Worked as teacher in Moscow Province. From 1907 exec organizer, Orekhovo-Zuyev Rayon, Moscow Okrug Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Committee. 1906 and 1907 arrested.
1909 sentenced to hard labor. 1915 exiled for life to Siberia. From March 1917 member, Irkutsk Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee and member, Executive Committee, Irkutsk Soviet.
November 1917 helped establish Soviet regime in Irkutsk. From February 1918 Presidium member, Centr Siberian Soviet. After 1918 collapse of Soviet regime in Transbaikal area conducted underground work in Blagoveshchensk and Khabarovsk.
29 May 1919 arrested by White Guards.
