Front 1911 with corps-de-ballet, Mariinskiy Theater. 1912-1915 with the Diaghilev Ballet. From 1915 again with Mariinskiy Theater.
1930-1931 with Tbilisi Opera Theater. Performed character parts: Anthony in Arenskiy’s Yegipetskiye nochi (Egyptian Nights). Eusebio in "Carnival”.
The toreador in "Don Quixote," et cetera From 1925 taught classical ballroom dancing at Leningrad Choreographic College. 1940-1952 and 1954 artistic manager of this college.
While teaching ballroom dancing, he took a keen interest in ancient dances and founded a new discipline - the historical dance - which was included in the curriculum of Soviet and for choreographic colleges.
