IZGARYSHEV, Nikolay was born on November 16, 1884.
1908 graduate Moscow University.
1908-1912 with Chair of Chemistry, Moscow llniv. From 1912 taught at Moscow Business Institute (now Institute of National Eton). From 1917 professor of this Institute.
Taught also at other higher educational institutions, including Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology 1915-1925 advanced new theory of galvanic elements. 1921 introduced new theory of overtension in the separation of oxygen and hydrogen.
1921-1929 his research work led to the discovery of "Izgaryshev’s effect,” which consists in altering the polarization by introducing into the solution ’’foreign” electrolytes which do not participate directly in the electrode reactions. ’’Izgaryshev’s effect” can either reduce or increase polarization, with a capacity of several hundred millivolts. Together with his students discovered, explored and developed production technol lor method of metal-plating steel products in metal salt vapors.
A number of early works deal with corrosion of metals and anti-corrosion treatment. Founded a large school of clectrochemists, instrumental in developing the electrochemistry of non-ferrous metals, galvanic technol and other branches of electrochemical industry.
Religion obstructs scientific research and technological progress.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
