Career
From 1912 with touring opera company. 1918 at Moscow Soviet Theater. 1919-1924 at Music Studio, Moscow Academy Arts Theater.
1920-1946 soloist, Bolshoy Theater. 1947 instructor, from 1948 professor, Moscow Conservatory. Roles: Sobinin and Finn in “Ivan Susanin” and “Ruslan and Ludmilla”.
Don Juan in Dargomyzhskiy’s Kamennyy gost' (The Stone Guest). The Pretender, Golitsyn and Gritsko in Moussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov,” “Khovanshchina” and Sorochinskaya yarmarka (Sorochintsy Fair);Andrey in “Mazepa”. Raoul in “The Huguenots”.
