Completed parish primary school. Extended his educational through self-study.
Broke with his family at an early age and went to work for Main Telegraph Office. Then worked for public notary, as medical orderly and as day laborer. From 1931 lit work with Romany Section, Centr Publ House and Pedagogical Publ House.
Member, “Kuznitsa” (The Smithy) lit associate. Then member, Romany Section, Moscow Association of Proletarian Writers. 1933-1938 taught Romany language at Moscow Teachers’ Training College.
One of first Romany writers. Literature ed, first Romany journal “Tsyganskaya zarya” and “Novyy put’”. Company-founder, Romany Theater, Moscow.
Translated into Romany language some works of Lenin, Pushkin and Merimee's novella "Carmen”. Edited M.V. Sergiyevskiy and A.P. Barannikov’s “Romany-Russian Dictionary” (1938). From 1930 member, British Gipsy Lore Social.
Left various unpublished manuscripts: translations from Pushkin and Lermontov. Collection of Northern Gipsies fairy-tales, songs and proverbs. "A Gipsy's Notes on Gipsy Choirs”.
