Career
1914-1917 worked at Moscow University. 1917-1920 professor, Omsk Polytech Institute. 1920-1927 professor, Ivanovo Polytech Institute.
1920-1940 professor, Moscow Chemical Technol Institute. Defined concepts of colloidal chemistry system and stability of highly-dispersed systems 1922 demonstrated the difference between kinetic and aggregative stability of colloids, determined stabilizing role of absorptionsolvate films in the coagulation, protection and aging of sols.
Did research on practical aspects of colloidal chemistry, such as dyeing, tanning, adhesives, et cetera
