1913 graduate History and Philology Faculty, Saint St. Petersburg University.
1913 began to teach history and Russian language and lit at a business college and other educational establishments in Saint St. Petersburg. 1917 organized educational system in Tambov. Helped establish Tambov Teachers Training Courses and Tambov University.
From 1918 professor and head, Chair of Pedagogical, Tambov University. From 1923 professor and head, Chair of Pedagogical, Saratov University. 1931-1952 head, Chair of Pedagogical, Saratov Teachers’ Training Institute.
Specialized in folklore and ethnography. Studied history of pedag thought, particulary development of ideas on labor training in pre—Revol Russia and abroad.
