1902 graduate medical orderlies’ school. 1916 graduate Medical Faculty, Moscow University.
While still a student did research on the morphology of blood and on blood-parasites. 1916-1918 intern, Tbilisi Railroad Hospital. 1920-1921 assistant professor, Chair of Pathological Anatomy, Tbilisi University.
From 1922 associate, Sumy Centr Malaria Station. 1925 imported the mosquito-fish (Gambusia affinis) from Italy and used it against anopheles in various regions of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. From 1926 director and sci director, Institute of Tropical Diseases, Abkhazian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
Wrote some 40 works on malaria.
