1932-1960 professor, then head Chair of Historical Geology, Moscow Geological Survey Institute. 1934-1935 associate, 1935-1955 head, Tectonics Department, Institute of Geological Sciences, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences.
1956-1960 director, Geological Institute, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Created anew trend in tectonics with the study of the development of the tectonic structures of the earth’s crust. 1933, together with Anno Domini Arkhangel’skiy, mapped the general tectonic structure of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.
Then mapped the tectonic structure of the Siberian Plateau, the West Siberian Depression and Centr Kazakhstan. Established the general pattern for plateau structure. 1952 and 1956 helped compile tectonic map of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.
