Nikolay STARIKOV, USSR Mining expert. Full member, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, since 1951; associate, Institute of Mining, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, since 1952.
STARIKOV, Nikolay was born in 1897.
1924 graduated Leningrad Mining Institute.
1924-1928 worked in Krivoy Rog ore mines. 1928-1931 at Ural State Design Institute for Metallurgical Plants. 1931-1947 Professor, Sverdlovsk Mining Institute.
1948-1951 Professor, Krivoy Rog Ore Mining Institute. 1959 member, State Science and Technology Committee Compiling 1960 National Economics Plan, Ukrainia Council of Ministers. Works deal with opening-up and working of ore deposits and with fire fighting and prevention at pyrite workings.
