1910-1913 studied at K.V. Bravich, F.F. Komissarzhevskiy and Member of Parliament Yartsev’s drama school, Moscow.
1914-1918 at Komissarzhevskaya Theater. 1919-1931 at Maly Theater. 1932 at Music Hall; 1920-1921 and 1926-1927 stage director, Korsh Theater.
1922-1926 stage director, Komissarzhevskaya Theater. 1927 — 30 co-founder and director, Trade-Union Club Workshop. Also staged plays at Moscow Drama and Comedy Theater.
Produced a number of radio shows and variety shows. Productions: Nedorosl' (The Ignoramus) (1923). Sukhovo-Kobylin’s Otzhitoye vremya (Used Time) (1923).
