Nikolay Dmitrievich graduated from Major Military School of Physical Education and studied in Central Gymnastic Hall of the Chief Directorate of Institutions of Higher Education in Saint Petersburg in 1923.
Since 1923, Nikolay Dmitrievich worked as in Voronezh as a sports coordinator and inspection supervisor in the governorate council of physical education. He was one of the heads of the council of physical education in the oblast from 1930 to 1936. He was the head of the Department of Physical Education of Voronezh State University twice from 1947 to 1949 and from 1947 to 1949. Nikolay Dmitrievich was an advisor on physical therapy in a military hospital from 1941 to 1946. From 1946 to 1967 he worked in Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute as the dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, deputy principal, head of the department.
