Nikolay Karlovich Miloslavsky began acting in 1837. He performed mainly in the provinces (until 1880), occasionally playing on the stages of Alexandrinsky (St. Petersburg) and Maly (Moscow) theaters. He repeatedly toured in Voronezh, including in 1860 (Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky mentions him in his letter to Prov Mikhailovich Sadovsky). Some of his roles: Chatsky ("Woe from Wit" by Alexander Sergeyevich Griboedov), President ("Intrigue and Love" by Friedrich Schiller), Hamlet, Shylock, King Lear ("Hamlet", "Merchant of Venice", "King Lear" by William Shakespeare) etc. He was an entrepreneur and had enterprises in Kazan (1852-1858), Kiev (1864-1865), Odessa (1880-1882) and other cities.
