She has a younger brother, Abhigyan Singh Malik.He is into film direction. He has been the associate director of legendary film director Muzzaffar Ali. Nikunj is a professional accessories designer and has designed for leading Brands like Tommy Hilfiger accessories, Guess, Swiss Gear, Lee Cooper, Wills Lifestyle et cetera
Nikunj earned her graduate & post-graduate degrees in "Footwear & Accesories Designing" & "Fashion Business Management" respectively, from the very prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT),a premiere institute in India for Fashion Designing.
She was later accepted at extremely prestigious Indian Institutes of Management-A for a doctorate in marketing, which she declined. She is recognised amongst the top 15 alumni by NIFT Her love for animals is the reason that she is a vegetarian and does not use leather products.
She supports the cause for animal rights. She is a staunch supporter of women"s rights and is regularly invited to the news room of leading news channels of the country to lend her voice to women"s rights.
She first shot to fame with her participation in the Indian reality wedding show called "Rahul Dulhaniya le Jayega", which was aired on NDTV Imagine on 1 February 2010.
She ended up as one of the final three contestants on the show. She acted as the parallel female lead on the Star One show Geet hui sabse parayi as Anvesha a.k.a. Any, Maan"s spoilt baby sister.
She played the negative lead, Maya, in one of the leading shows of star plus - Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.
She featured on Anil Kapoor"s Indian replication of the American series "24". She has also featured as a guest member on various television dramas like Adaalat, Singhasan Battisi, Shapath, et cetera
She is also a brilliant host and had been hosting the stage shows and red carpets for star performers like Mika Singh, Shaan, Strings and private events. She also hosted the Cricket World Cup 2015 & IPL 8 for India News.
Nikunj Malik debuted with Bollywood film with Kangana Ranaut.
She featured in the film "The Shaukeens", in a friendly appearance. Currently her first Solo film, which is a woman oriented subject based on the struggle of a woman from the rural Bihar is in postproduction. This film is slated to release in 2016.
