Ylvisaker, Nils Martin was born on March 23, 1882 in Sogndal, Norway. Son of Johannes (Doctor of Divinity) and Kristi (Flugum) Y.


Brought to the United States, 1882, naturalized, 1898. Bachelor of Arts, Luther College, 1902. C.T., Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota, 1906.

Ordained to ministry Lutheran Church, July 22, 1906. Pastor churches in Bottineau and Ward counties, North Dakota, Mohall, North Dakota, 1906-1908, Christ and St. Stephen’s Church, St. Paul, Minnesota, 1908-1910, Our Saviors Church, Chicago, 1910-1917.
