Held the honoured title of Hero Mother for having given birth to 10 children whom she then brought up alone in the Siberian city of Irkutsk. 7 of her children became famous as the Seven Simeons Jazz Ensemble. She was shot by her sons during an unsuccessful and dramatic attempt by the Seven Simeons to hijack a Tu-154 to the West.
