Valetova started her career as a painter in 1982. In Nina Tokhtaman Valetova's oil paintings and digital artworks, the theme of metaphysical realism, visionary art, fantasy art has been well presented. Her constant experiments with composition, colour, and dimension make works enigmatic and paradoxical. In addition, her works are characterized by philosophical depth. Her artworks have a dreamlike quality, in which objects often turn into one another.
Nina Valetova usually implements many meanings in her paintings. Nina creates her works in such a way that they have no limit for the perception and stimulate the imagination. So, she prefers to give an opportunity for viewers to interpret her artworks. Each canvas by Valetova is unique and presents new stories. The artist actively experiments with dimension and composition which has given an edge to her works over others. The paradoxical nature of the artworks has made them much more intriguing than it originally would have been.
Valetova has participated in a number of exhibitions, including those at the Boulevard Galerie, Kopnhavn (Copenhagen), Denmark, in 1990-1991; the Arthaus Gallery, Dallas, Texas, in 1995; the World Fine Art Gallery, New York, in 2006; "Zolotoj Venec" ("Golden Tiara") at the Chuvash State Art Museum, Cheboksary, Russia, in 2009; Fashion District Art Show, New York, in 2009; the Vernissage, Artinvest SRL Torra della Filanda, Rivoli, Torino (Turin), Italy, in 2011; the A.
