Studied at the Jiiko Gakuen School in Kanazawa.
Nissatsu was initiated into priesthood (1839). Together with Nikkan and Nisshii, he carried out a revival of Nichiren·s teachings.Organized with other priests the Fukudenkai (a welfare association). He moved to the Hommonji temple in Ikegami (Tokyo) (1886). Nissatsu, Nikkan and Nisshii are called the Three Revivers of Faith in Nichiren Sect in the Meiji Era.
He became Superintendent Priest of the sect (1874), resided at the Kuonji temple on Mount Minobu in Yamanashi Prefecture, the headquarters of the sect, and became head of the Itchi branch of the sect. He abolished the name of Itchi (1876) and proclaimed that his branch was the orthodox Nichiren Sect.
