At the age of 18, he went to Kyiishii and later went to Kyoto.He admonished the Court and the Ashikaga Shogunate eight times concerning their feud. He offended Shogun Yoshinori Ashikaga by his admonition (1439) and was punished with torture. His Rissho Chikokuron was written by way of admonishing the Shogun.
After studying under Nichiei, priest of the Myosenji temple at Haniya in his native province of Kazusa (Chiba Prefecture), he followed Nissen, fifth priest of the Hokekyoji temple in Nakayama ( Chiba Prefecture).
