Career
In 1928 Tanioka became principal of the newly founded Joto Commerciai School in Osaka. Twenty years later he was appointed principal of Joto Higher School. Noboru merged with Kori Women's College to establish Joto Semmon Gakko (Joto College). He was known as the founder of Osaka Joto University, where Tanioka served as president and chief director.
Tanioka renamed the school Tanioka Gakuen in 1952 and further renamed it Osaka University of Commerce. He approached education with the idea of preparing and instilling in young people with skills and desire to contribute to society. During his career Tanioka has also held additional posts of chairman of Kansai Branch of Japan Private Universities Association and official of several other educational organizations.
