Noburu Kaneko was born in Yokohama City in Japan.
Noburu Kaneko graduated from the Tokyo Music Academy (1934). He studied under Rosenstock and Pringsheim. Studied at Vienna (1953).
After serving as conductor for the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, appointed professor of the Music Department of the Tokyo Geijutsu (Arts) University and conducts the orchestra and the chorus of the said department. In 1951 Noburu Kaneko conducted the first performance of the opera Turandot based on a Chinese tale as conductor of the Tokyo Opera Association formed by Madame Nobuko Hara as leader.
